I can't help myself. When I am good about staying out of the yarn stores, I end up ordering all sorts of stuff online. I did stop in at Ewe and I a couple of weeks ago, thinking I wouldn't find a thing, and lo and behold, they have gotten with it!! A bit of a yarn update going on. They had Blue Sky and Mountain Colors. Shock!! I picked up a skein of lovely Goat yarn. I didn't think to take a pic of it before I wound it up, but when I finish knitting it up, I will share a picture. And then, when I swore that was it(!!!) I had enough yarn and projects to keep me busy for a lifetime...I went and did it! I ordered a whole bunch of goodies from Knitpicks. I had to have some yarn for my newly acquired Forest Canopy shawl pattern. So I picked up some knitpicks Memories in Redwood Forest. I saw someone else with the same colorway and knew I had to have it too! That didn't stop the spree there either. I also ordered some Shadow in Lost lake and Vineyard to make a couple of other quick shawls. I am hoping to have these done for Christmas presents. I only need about six more knitting months to finish all that I need to have done. I can get that all done in two and a half months right? Right? Here is my first order in all it's glory (shame):
You would think that the madness ended there....it didn't. I am now waiting another shipment from Knitpicks. I found the Seascape shawl pattern at the LYS and picked it up to make my mother in law a Christmas present. This is definatly one of the projects that WILL be done for Christmas. My mother in law does so much for me and my family that I want her to have something made with love from me. My father in law and her go to Cape May a lot and I think that the pattern is fitting. I ordered some Knitpicks Alpaca Cloud in Stream. I hope it is the right blue. Just to hedge my bets, I also ordered some Shadow in Jewels. One of them has to be the right color. I hope it is the alpaca cloud. It is so soft and I think t he drap is just perfect.
Ok, enough chit-chat..Those Socktoberfest socks won't get done by themselves. (Will they?) I haven't even finished the first one yet. World's Slowest Knitter!!! Whoo Hoo!!

Hi Becky (my email stuffed up and I lost yours from your comment, sorry!) 2 skeins of LL for the shawl was perfect for an extra 4 repeats for the forest canopy shawl. I had some left, about the size of an Aussie 20c piece, but I don't think that would have been enough for a 5th repeat. Email me if that doesn't make sense!! I have a terrible habit of having a couple of beers and buying yarn on the internet too!
